Our

farm

Chickens aren't just feather makers for us, they also provide eggs, meat, entertainment, manure, pest control, and compost turning!  Our guard donkey is learning to pull a cart, and our dairy goats also eat other villager's weeds.

On our farm, every animal serves a variety of functions and provides a variety of yields.

Permaculture

We currently keep heritage breed chickens, khaki campbell and runner ducks, and muscovies.  Their numbers fluctuate throughout the year, but this winter we have 40 laying hens, a few roosters, 5 ducks and 8 muscovies.  In 2014 we processed 41 chickens, mostly roosters, 70 muscovies, and 6 ducks.

Birds

All our birds are raised organically and free ranging, by natural mothers as much as possible.
